What is Accoya?
Accoya is an exceptional wood that outperforms traditional softwoods and can even surpass the durability of tropical hardwoods. It starts off as radiata pine, a softwood, but is transformed through the acetylation process, making it significantly stronger while still retaining its natural wood properties.
Notably, Accoya is non-toxic, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly option for various wood applications.

Gate Warranty
Warranty Coverage:
- All timber gates produced by Blamphayne Sawmills are covered by a 1-year workmanship warranty, starting from the date of receipt of the goods.
- We offer a 10-year anti-rot policy on all timber gates, provided the gates are maintained according to our recommended treatment guidelines.
Important Installation & Maintenance Guidelines:
- Prior to exposing untreated timber products to the elements, it is essential to follow our treatment recommendations. Please speak to our sales team for more information.
- Gates must be installed with appropriate tolerances to allow for seasonal wood movement. We highly recommend using our adjustable hinges for optimal performance.
In the Event of a Manufacturing Defect: If a gate fails to perform as designed due to an issue with workmanship, Blamphayne Sawmills will correct the fault. However, please note that we will not be responsible for any consequential losses that may result.
Exclusions & Warranty Limitations:
- Treatment Issues: Problems like water damage or rot are typically caused by not adhering to our recommended treatment guidelines, using the wrong treatment, or failing to apply treatment altogether. These issues will void any warranty claims.
- Manufacturing Defects: Any manufacturing defects must be reported before installation. If a defect is found after the gate has been hung, the warranty may no longer be valid.
What is Not Covered:
- Removal & Reinstatement: This warranty only covers the replacement of the original product purchased. It does not include the costs associated with removal, reinstatement, or any consequential losses due to gate failure.
- Additional Parts/Accessories: The warranty does not cover automation kits, locks, hinges, bearings, rollers, or any other parts/accessories subject to wear and tear.
- Treatment Negligence: The warranty will not cover damage caused by failure to apply or maintain the proper treatment according to our guidelines.
- Improper Installation: Any installation issues, including poor fitting, improper gate setup, or installation as a bi-fold gate, will invalidate the warranty. Gates installed as bi-folds are subject to increased stress on joints.
- Timber Movement: We do not cover issues related to natural timber movement, such as twisting, warping, or splitting.
- Alterations or Modifications: Any changes made to the original gate, such as the addition of mesh (especially if installed too tightly), will void the warranty.
- Damage or Abuse: This warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, or deliberate harm.
- Improper Fitting: If gates, posts, ironwork, or nearby objects are poorly fitted, this may invalidate the warranty.
- Lack of Recommended Fittings: The absence of essential fittings, such as drop bolts & socket sets, can also void the warranty.
