FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS… TO WHERE WE ARE NOW
Family Owned Timber Specialists
Blamphayne Sawmills is a family owned timber business based in Gittisham, near Honiton in Devon, specialising in the manufacture of quality timber products for homes, gardens, agriculture and construction.
Founded over 50 years ago by Norman Willis, Blamphayne Sawmills began life on the family dairy farm, where a small sawmill operation was established alongside the existing farming business. The company started by cutting timber and producing handcrafted items including Welsh dressers and tables. From these humble beginnings, the business continued to grow, expanding its expertise and becoming established within the wider timber industry.
As demand increased, Norman was joined by his sons James and Jonathan, who helped develop the business further into the manufacture of agricultural gates, fencing and timber products for farming cooperatives, builders and contractors. This continued growth led to Blamphayne Sawmills becoming a trusted timber and fencing merchant, supplying quality products to customers across the region.
Today, Blamphayne Sawmills remains a proud family run business, with James, Jonathan and the next generation of the Willis family continuing to play an active role in the company. From our modern sawmill facility in Gittisham, Devon, our skilled team of around 40 employees manufacture a wide range of timber products including log stores, garden buildings, fencing, gates, decking, structural timber and treated timber products.
While the business has grown significantly over the years, our values remain the same. We continue to combine traditional family values with modern manufacturing methods, delivering high quality timber products built to last and providing the personal service our customers have trusted for over 50 years.
