FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS… TO WHERE WE ARE NOW
Blamphayne Sawmills prides itself on delivering quality products, many produced on our new facility based in Gittisham, just outside Honiton, Devon. We dedicate ourselves to good customer care, and to provide a friendly, but above all professional service to all our customers.
Blamphayne Sawmills Ltd was first set up by Norman Willis, over Fifty years ago, as a small sawmill cutting timbers and making Welsh dressers and tables. The business soon began to expand in size and diversified into different areas of the timber industry. Joined by his sons James and Jonathan, Norman proceeded to expand the business further. They began to manufacture gates for farming cooperatives and building contractors.
Progressing further, the Willis family became a large-scale timber and fencing merchant.
To this day, Blamphayne Sawmills is still very much a family concern with Norman, Susan and sons Jonathan and James all working full time in the new sawmill site in Gittisham, Devon. They currently have a staff of more than twenty-five people working on site, producing a wide range of timber products, from building carcassing, garden decking, fencing, gates and treating timber.
